A"Struggling" child or teenager might display any of the following:
* Special educational needs that are not being met (e.g., ADHD)
* A need for structure and discipline to learn better habits and skills
* Behavior and or/emotional problems
* A struggle with psychiatric illness, eating disorders, or psychoses
* A battle with drug or alcohol abuse
* A struggle with the legal system
Families in my practice have typically exhausted all local resources. Their children's needs go beyond the abilities of traditional therapists, teachers, and/or psychiatrists. And the whole family, as well as the child, suffers.
